vibration @ 2900 rpm and up

Featured Replies

i've been driving more brisk now, (before usted to upshift @ 2k rpm) and im starting to use the full range from 2k to 3.5k and notice that starting at 2.9k rpm the engine has a viebration in all gears and even in neutral,

i dont know if thats a normal thing, or a engine mount thing

It could be the engine mount by the sounds of it. Does the rubber look worn on the mount above the gearbox?

Depends on the kind of noise and where it seems to come from. Does it do it in neutral if you just rev the engine while stood still?

I had my engined changed a while back now as the old one had been run dry of oil at some point and had a knackered crank that gave out a very loud vibrating noise at higher rpm.

last year i solve a vibration problem, it was caused by lower alternator mounting.

check for it. it makes resonance just around 3000rpm also it may effect your tachometer.
