Rectrofit folding mirrors, alientech

Featured Replies

Hi All

I used to have a Seat Cupra which had total enclosure and folding mirrors. Useful features to have in the east london area and with rear passengers who don't bother putting the windows up.

Been going through this forum and came across alientech which seems to do the total enclosure element without interfering with the factory fitted alarm and the existing key will do the job. Anyone recommend this?

The folding mirrors will be a little more complicated i guess. If its a no no then i wont bother. Yes i know i should of gone with the Elegance model. Couldn't get one in my price range. Price difference was too much. Low milage private Superbs seem very rare.

You can already close the windows from the remote - just keep the lock button pressed until all the windows are closed.

This also works the other way, keep the open button pressed and all the windows will open.:)

I tested 2 things last night:

The 'follow me light system'. This worked by just flashing the high beam once and the lights stayed on for 30sec.

Holding the locking button down so all windows close. This didnt work. I guess i am back to an after market solution for this.

The total closure system I am afraid does not work from the remote and you need to put the key into the driver's side door lock and hold it in the open position or closed position for a few seconds to either close all or open all windows........

I believe that if you source the Alientech unit then the above functionality can be achieved from the remote but for me this is a waste of money as how often would you really use it?

On the wing mirror front I am afraid that to source electric heated folding mirrors on a none Elegence spec model is a very expensive modification to mate as the units are around £250+ per side, many tried to do this on UK-MKIV's on their MK4 Golfs and only those with a lot of cash got this done..........:(

That's strange, it certainly works on my '04 Comfort (it also worked on my '01 Octavia Elegance) do you both have early cars?

I certainly so 2002 '52 Registered model here which means I don't have the luxury of split folding rear seats either...............:thumbdwn:

I have a 52 2003 registered comfort.

Folding wind mirrors will just be too expensive

Total enclosure only works with the key. So useless really. I had total enclosure with my Cupra and i found it very useful in the summer.

Any cheap add on module will be appreciated as I cant afford the Elegance.:sad

my 04 plate, no split seat opens and closes the windows by remote:thumbup:

Same with my 54 plate Comfort that I used to have. The last Elegance I had, and this one, will only SHUT the windows with the key in the lock, not open them. But I can do this with the key, by holding the button.
