Boy Dies In Chase After Taking Dad's Car - Yahoo! News UK

When teenagers go horrificly wrong!

However i do wonder about the parents:

Osmanovic had, 24 hours earlier, been arrested for taking a vehicle without consent and bailed pending further enquiries.

so he stole the car was arrested then bailed presumable by his parents. Only to get home and the next day steal it again?!

Surely lock up the keys!!!

Darwinism strikes again it seems.........

"If they had stopped the chase, he would be alive today with us here. He wouldn't have put his foot down, he'd have slowed down and come home."

:rotz:

If he hadn't taken the car he'd be alive today.

Live by the sword....

No sympathy.

"He is my son. I wouldn't consider it stolen. It is fully taxed and insured."

How would it be insured if he didn't have a license?

im sorry but does anyone actually feel that bad? yeah i feel for his dad, it must be devastating to lose a child. but the lad was obvioulsy a tit. he had done it before for crying out loud!!! 'he doesnt smoke or drink'. no but he endangers the life of every law abiding motorist by being a pratt.

How would it be insured if he didn't have a license?

Very true. Seems like a casing of living by the sword, and ultimately dying by the sword! :thumbdwn:

Darwinism in action for sure.

No sympathy whatsoever. I wonder how his dad would react if his son had killed some innocent bystander in his high speed kicks. I'm pretty sure the car WAS stolen as it was taken withought the owners consent. Also, there is complete disregard for OUR laws. When a copper pulls you over, you stop the car and take whats comming to you.... you dont floor it and try and get yourself on Britains dumbest criminals or police, camera action etc etc. At least he only killed himself anyway. Feel sorry for his dad tho. :thumbdwn:

I'd read the MEN report first. Apparently if the Police hadn't tried to stop him he wouldn't have been drivng at 100mph, he would have turned round and gone home

I have sympathy for the family but this isn't an accident or a tragedy or some great injustice. The kid was responsible for his actions and he got it wrong. We all live (or not) with our mistakes and he made a big one.

:The dad says 'he woudn't have put his foot down if the cops hadn't cahased him'. But he was seen racing a subaru. Err what? :thumbdwn:

I feel sorry for anyone that loses a friend or relatave in a road accident. However when the family say 'if the police had not chased him, he would be alive today' I say 'when the police want you to stop JUST STOP' wearing a seat belt also prevents you from being thrown from the car, the passenger survived.

Why is it in nearly all of these cases the family add 'he was a good boy etc etc' If he was that good why did he take the car.

Sorry, no sympathy.

another one here with no sympathy

i feel sorry for the lamp post he hit , as at least it was of some use

Darwinism strikes again it seems.........

I wish Darwinism would work in my favour and get rid of some of my neighbours :D

Zero sympathy here, just relief that another prat is off the road for good.

Someone else who is now going to suffer as a result of this...

The incident which happened on Thursday has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission. The police car driver has been taken off duties pending the results of an investigation.

Someone died, it's SOP to suspend any officers at the sharp end of it...

If it's not too Roman or gladiatorial BTW. :thumbdwn:

Reads like he was a thieving git! I'll assess the need to activate my sympathy chip when more info. becomes available.

J.

At least he killed himself and no one else. Good Riddance. Still not nice for the family to deal with though.

Fail.

No sympathy here for the kid, the parents yes... but surely they're partly to blame anyway.

Don't understand what you mean here?

Usual press mis-information! The officer has been taken off driving duties - which happens to ALL officers (in GMP) involved in police vehicle involved collisions.

Most are only 'grounded' for a short time (sometimes minutes) if it is of a minor nature and police obviously not to blame.

In the serious cases - fatal or life changing injury - they are all referred to the IPCC for an independent review or investigation. If there is clear evidence that the police are not to blame (ie video or independent witnesses) then the officer should be reinstated to driving long before the final result of the investigation.

I would imagine he will be driving again very shortly!

serves the idiot right, sorry for his dad although he sounds like a tit too.

Another No Sympathy here. Just lucky that no one else was involved.

Surley good kids dont take other peoples cars ( Twice in 2 days ) and race them on public roads.

A bit confused as well that the press reported that the police lost the merc on the motorway, but came across it later, off J3, how could the police have been chasing it, if 1) they cant see a car to chase & 2) found it later off J3, & they werent immediatly behind it to see it crash.

.

People are all to quick to blame the police for incidents such as this.

If the little scrotes weren't nicking the cars and risking the lives of the general public the police would have no need to chase them in the first place.

Joyriders and car thieves are treated way too lieniently IMO.

And yes, thank you Charles Darwin. One less scrote to pollute the gene pool.

Ahh, I see. I thought someone must've made a complaint. Thanks.
