Alarm problem

Featured Replies

Im having problem with VRS, the alarm keeps going off randomly.

I noticed tonight that while locking the car if you press the lock button twice the hazard lights didnt flash.

I have not used the car this week, and had washed it before not using it.

Wondering if its a sticky sensor? Bonnet maybe?

Any help would be super.

Cheers

Dave

the alarm doesnt arm if it thinks any of the doors, boot or bonnet isnt shut/closed correctly. But i thought if you pressed the key fob again within 30 seconds you were disabling the Alarm. Dare say other people will correct me if im wrong.

I had that problem and I used WD40 on the bonnet sensor and the one in the boot and it never did it again!!

We have recently had this problem. I told the dealership when it went in for a service and they put a new battery on it under warranty. The alarm was going off due to low voltage.

Im still having problems with this alarm, car has been to dealership and reported no problems.

Last night it went off loads of time, I moved the car and parked it 20yards away and it was fine.

Seems to be when it rains the problems shows up the most.

Might be a idea to Vagcom it or find somebody (in your area with Vagcom) to see if they can check for any fault codes.

has anyone got vagcom in Glasgow area?

Just disconnect the bonnet sensor and see if the problem remains

Got the car checked by independant garage today.

Intermitent Fault Found with Aralm Siren.

Fault code was cleared, although was advise it could be poor wiring on Alarm Unit itself.

Can anyone tell me where Id find Alarm Siren on the car.

Mate , this exact problem has happened with mine,, turns out it was the bonnet sensor

Said so lol. Only just plugged mine back in after a spray of wd40
