Second car '98 Felicia estate

Featured Replies

Hey guys, i've decided to go all out on the fabia and take it to a few shows so i needed a new daily and something to do odd jobs for friends... car washing/driveway cleaning etc...(ask me for a quote if you want something done).Ebay came up trumps in the form of a red '98 felicia estate 1.3MPi for the grand total of £265.01... Now for this price there had to be a few problems, rust on rear arches, a few dings and dents and it has 108,000 miles on the clock.

I'm going to pick it up in about an hour so will get pictures up but I do have one question. The seller has said it has a dry pully bearing on the belt... I have no idea what this means can anyone enlighten me? The car had a year's MOT on it so i assume it's not a big problem, would it be ok to drive this thing with the dry bearing or should I get it checked out?

Many thanks,

Duggie.

Welcome to club Felicia!

I think the pully bearing might need greasing.

The only belt on a Felicia 1.3 might be the alternator belt and/or PAS if yours has it.

Should be fine, these things are tough. You should be OK drivig it back on a dry bearing but will def need examining I think. Greasing/replacement depending on condition.

Blimey, £90 cheaper than my recent estate purchase. Give it a DAMN good going over though..... I've found rust in areas that concern me.... and may need plating on my 98 felcia estate.

Red Felly Estate - you couldn't have made a better choice

106K means it's just run in :) With a fresh MOT you shouldn't have to worry about rusty front struts. For that price, a bit of rust on the arches is tolerable - and Hammerite comes in red, too :D

But the pully bearing might be worth taking a look at. And from other 1.3 owners here I've understood that checking/adjusting the valves should be done now and then - pleasant pastime on a rainy Sunday.
