Damage to new car:-(

BoooooHoooooooooo, car is going back again. The paintwork on the nearside front wing where they feathered in the paint to match as got so many swirl marks from the orbital or rotary polisher it looks like an ice rink. And the rear passenger door as got a large dull patch just above the rubber strip about the size of a cd, and the rear quarter panel window is all scratched on the outside I presume from the grinder when removing the damaged quarter panel. And finally the rear passenger sill looks like it has no clear coat on it at all. This will be the third time the car has gone back now, am thinking about phoning the insurance company to make a complaint? What do you think?

I would definitely complain mate, 3 times back to do a job is just not acceptable IMO, are they professionals or bl00dy bodge it merchants!

I bet your proper peed off now, all this hassle through no fault of your own :(

Hope you finally get it sorted and can start enjoying the car again

Cheers

Damian

Thats abysmal :thumbdwn:

It doesn't sound like they are capable of doing the job properly full stop.

A phone call to the insurance company might be on the cards, they might let you take it to another repair centre if you tell them how ****ed off you are with Wonder and Blunkett

Its a pity you aren't down this neck of the woods, the place that did SWMBOs vRS did a stunning job first time.

If they sprayed the wing, why didn't they spray the whole thing rather than faff about feathering it in?

Thanx all will deffo ring insurance company tomorrow

Oh dear oh dear. I'm far too late with this post I'm afraid. If I'd seen it earlier I could have said DON'T USE AN ACCIDENT REPAIR CENTRE especially if the Insurance company have any say in which one it is.

Just my two pennorth based on very bitter experience when among other things finger tight wheel bolts could have cost us our lives.

Headlight out and stuck bonnet. You are lucky. I really do hope things work out OK Your car is a stunner.

Been there, done that. That's the advice I give to everyone.

Our vRS took a heavy punt into the rear end and the accident repair centre did an immaculate job on the repair, my local dealer and I couldn't fault it one bit. It was a Porsche, Merc and Skoda approved centre

Been there, done that too. I ONLY use VAG approved bodyshops for my car now, and each time I have the repairs have been excellent.

This will be the third time the car has gone back now, am thinking about phoning the insurance company to make a complaint? What do you think?

Yes. Call them. Tell them you will take it elsewhere and bill them for remedial work.

I'm sorry this has been such a unpleasant experience for you.

Really sorry to hear that. Get on to them and complain like hell. The only experience I've had of body shops was that Autoglass muppet incident last year with my Elegance. I was so worried about the repair not being perfect, but it was fine. So glad I insisted on having it done at the Audi bodyshop instead of the one they proposed.

when my mk1 vrs went into a "insurance approved" body shop for its rear bumper to be painted after somebody rang up the back of me,it came back a week later looking like new,me been in the motor trade had a good luck round it when it came back,i opened the boot & lifted the carpet up & asked the nice man who had just delivered it back to me "where is my spare wheel & tools & jack?" after one phone call & 30 mins later my spare wheel etc is delivered to me along with a voucher for a free service in their service dept, free service.......i dont think so thanks,if they cant even put my spare back in there is no chance of them touching the mechanicals!! makes you think what would of happened if i didnt have the knowledge to check the car over when it returned! imagine 2 months down the line on the hard shoulder of the M1 with a punchure...."sorry sir we fixed your car 2 months ago & know nothing about your missing spare!" even if one of the lads from the bodyshop has a spare vrs wheel for sale on flee bay!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I rang the insurance company, and I have an independant mechanical engineer coming to my house tomorrow to look at the car. Hopefully should be getting the car properly repaired.

Thats certainly a step in the right direction.

Well have finally got the car back this afternoon and all looks well, will try an get some pics up later:thumbup:

So you're commiting fraud then ?

There's an insurance fraud hotline for most companies you know ;)

To the OP, I'm glad you've got your car back. I do hope everything is ok in the long run and they have done a good job this time around.
