Climatronic having a mental

Featured Replies

As above my climatronic is going mad by the sounds of it, it's making a whooshing sound,as in the air speed is going up and down, or possibly the flap is on the fritz.

Any ideas ????

It's not just a glorious sunny day, and it trying to cool the interior?

If not, try the semi-random button pressing, and if that doesn't work you have a fault reader IIRC.

Nah it's something more specific, it doesn'tnormally sound like this, I've had the flap fault code for months, with seemingly no problems until now

I had two common climatronic fault codes (V71 flap + another one for temp flap motor which showed up more recently) on mine, and I eventually stumbled upon a post advising running basic settings on the climatronic controller in VAGCom could fix it. Tried it a month ago, and so far so good. My climatronic unit no longer sounds like a bag of spanners, and neither code has returned. I think it was a post by Ross, but can't locate it right now.

Not sure if thats any use to you, but I would try scanning to see if you have similar codes.

Flap Motor Reset

08 Heater/A.C

04 Basic settings

Channel 000 (30 Secs)

001 (30 Secs)

002 (30 Secs)

Does this look familiar ???

It's deffo the re-circ flap as when I hit the re-circ button it sticks too one type of noise. Turn it off and it sounds like the winds blowing again.

I'vejust been playing with vag com and the noise seems better but it's still doing the clunking and scratching noises, just not as often now. The whoosing sound seems to have disappeared now.

It was definately related too the re-circ flap as it stopped when I pressed the re-circ button..........We shall see how long it lasts.
