Its happend a couple of times now, this morning when I first started the car I could not engage reverse gear! :eek: It just grinded, I then tried releasing the clutch and re-depressing and it was the same. Also tried other gears being carefull not to apply force and it was like trying to push the leaver into a wall.

After turning the engine off and restarting everything was fine! It does not seem to be related to the temp of the engine as the last time it happened it was warm after the engine being off for just a short time.

Any ideas? I'm thinking possibly a hydraulic problem, is the system shared with brake's or power steering?

Any advise very welcome, i'd like to get the problem sorted if there is one before I end up stranded somewhere unable to select any gears.

Try bleeding the clutch, that might help. It sounds like the clutch is dragging.

:iagree: - You might also try starting the engine with your foot on the clutch.

The reservoir, but not the pipework, is shared with the brakes. The PAS is completely separate.
