How many are still waiting for an Octavia LE?

Featured Replies

Well after several phone calls and E-mails between myself, my dealer and Skoda UK, it turns out my LE still wont be available for another few weeks, it has been well over a month since I ordered. Still no definitive date though.

The reason I was given is that "because it is a limited edition the orders have been flooding in which has caused some delays" surely with such a quality product as the Octavia VRS, any fool can work out that if you make a special one such as the LE, it is going to sell like hot cakes. I thought a company such as Skoda would have worked that out. Am i correct in saying that a very similar thing happened when they released a Fabia LE?

I must thank James and the whole team at Allams for all there help, they have been great in trying to find out where my car is, they are in the dark as much as I am unfortunately.

What I wonder is, how many more people are still waiting for theres?

Count me in still waiting.........however maybe I dont want it now until the middle of May because of the £2000 scrappage deal for an old car following the budget..hmm

There must be lots of people still waiting. Dans LE is order number 53 of the petrols and they have released number 51 if that's any help, from what I heard they had taken order number 130.

Dans Fiesta is not 10 years old yet so he can't have the scrappage.

This will only apply, IF skoda decide to participate in the scheme. by default all manufacturers must opt in, and not all of them will because it costs them money as well as the government. if skoda opt-in then the £2k is taken off the RRP of the car, not any discounted price you may have already negotiated so you maybe worse off.

Placed my order 7 weeks ago. Numerous calls to dealer (who was in the dark completely) and Skoda UK Customer Support to finally find out last Friday that I was the 43rd order taken on the LE Petrol Hatch and that they have filled 37 so far.

What was incredible was that even knowing that I would be the 6th next petrol car converted, nobody could tell when.

When pressed they acknowledged that they did not know when the next shipment was coming from the factory to the company completing the refits, nor did they know at what speed the company was turning the cars around.

Called dealer & Customer Support again yesterday morning to find that there was no further update.

Pants or what!!!

15 mins later the dealer rings back to say that he has received the electronic paperwork and that the car will arrive on Monday.:)

The dealer (Murrays of Newton Abbot) has been very helpful, even giving us a loan of 52 reg Octavia to go on holiday, but I do believe he was totally out of the loop.

Skoda UK have really dropped the ball on this car rollout. Can't wait till I pick it up, but would recommend friends to stick to "normal" stock cars.

Im glad I am not the only one not getting anywhere with Skoda UK, well I am not really glad I am not the only one, I know how frustrating it must be for you guys!

I wish I could get some of this government grant, but as James pointed out, its only 8 years old. I just hope it holds out until the Skoda arrives, i have to replace one of its wheel bearings at the weekend as im not going to rely on the new car arriving anytime soon, and 80 miles a day with a god awefull whining noise is not something i am willing to leave. Dont want it completely failing on the motorway! :thumbdwn:

Great news it has arrived just as the dealer said.....for those boys ,the dealer told me it was electronically assigned on Tuesday and arrived today, and no I wasnt camping outside for the photograph just happened to be driving by and thought I would take a look. Apprently its No.32 will check over the weekend

I like the go faster stripes, you should definetly leave them on!

im just really shocked as you guys still havent had your cars yet.

Mine took no longer to arrive then 4 weeks, have the say that the guys at preston motors where fab to get me the car in a very short space of time

Maybe Halfords Crapspeed ran out of them Shonky Rims and thats why they are taking a while...

I thought the £2000 scrappage scheme only covered cars made in the UK? The whole thing smacks of saving a few quid for the boys to buy their jaguars and range rovers with, they will just buy any old heap from a scrap yard to get the money off the new car. £2000 isn't really going to help people who can't afford a new car, where do they expect you to magic the rest of the money when credit has dried up? Seems the only people this will benefit are those with enough expendable cash to buy a new car because as soon as you drive it out of the show room it has lost more than £2000 in value!

If someone told me to wait more than a month for a brand new car I would tell them to **** off and ask them is it any ****ing wonder why they are struggling to sell new cars. If they have orders bought and paid for what's their problem? How long does it take to bolt together a car to order on a production line?

Really can't understand what is going on with these delays. I phoned up to ask about when the CR engines were going to be available on the L&K or Elegance, and was told I might as well go for a VRs LE. I was then told they had one in stock, so went and bought it this morning.

Must be something really weird going on at SUK to cause these problems. I really hope everyone gets theirs soon, as the distribution of these seems a little unfair IMHO.
