water/stench in driver footwell when using rear wash/wipe

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I'm a first time poster and new Fabia3 1.9 tdi owner and would appreciate some advice.I have carried out a search on water leaks on the forum and whilst threads are sadly plentiful I can seem to find one specific to my issue so here goes.....Used rear wash/wipe the other day and immediatly had the foulest odour coming from inside the car. So bad I had to stop and open the doors! Had a look at the drivers footwell and water was dripping down the cluth pedal onto the carpet which was otherwise dry. Water was still making it to the rear window at the same time. Tried once more to make sure and same result.

Apologies for the long post, car is a 57 plate, 13000mls and I have had it for 7 days.

Thanks in advance

Well Skoda have now had the car 10 days and still waiting for parts. Seemingly the wash pipe is on back order. Indicative of how many have broken? Probably. Think the heater may also be damaged as this was the source of the smell when the water was dripping from the fractured pipe. Bummer, was really enjoying the car too.

Same happened to me in my Roomster, no water comes from the wiper end, instead water fills to the trunk. I've find the leaking point (broken pipe), see pic. The pipeline should be inspected to find the broken area.

I guess the water pipe is very brittle...

Niall - car 57 plate ,13,000 miles - you've still got a LOT of warranty on it - be careful you don't void it .

Absolutely VWD, Just having a wee look. Car going into Ingram Skoda in Ayr on Saturday. Just making sure I don't get the wool pulled over by the dealer if you know what I mean:)

Mine is 04 plate , bought with about six months left - washers not working - pipe off at front - dealer did it on spot -found both local ones good for little things /help /warranty work (door seals )
