Diagnostic port

Featured Replies

It occurred to me to buy a Superchips Bluefin remap device for my Mk II 2.0 PD. Does anyone know whether the diagnostic port (and the map) for the facelifted Mk II is (are) the same so, if my next car is a facelifted Mk II, I could still use the Bluefin device?

Or is that ridiculous given that the latest engine is actually a different type?

The port type and location are the same, but you will need a different map loaded in the device, probably.

Out of interest, where is the outlet situated anyway please? Thanks lots

You can still use your Bluefin device (even on all other VAG cars with the same OBD port) BUT you will have to buy another licence, as the device is coupled to your cars chassisnumber.

And this newer licence will alow you to read the data of the new car first, before SuperChips will change it.

the bluefin should help you with some error codes though - kind of a lame VAG

:)

I suppose the cost of the Bluefiin is the map, not the device itself. I think I'll ring them to see if there's any discount for a new map.

Thanks for comments.
