SKODA RNS 510

Model: SKODA MFD3 RNS

no def not mdf2

guy is selling locally needs money, I offered him £250 as bait, the fish is now getting hungry

Is it stolen?

£250 would be an incredible price - well, unless it was "hot" in which case sounds about right, not that I'd personally touch a hot one.

Average going rate for the Skoda units is £600 - £650 at the moment.

No not hot just desperate:)

Make sure you get the code card with it. The firmware can be updated as can the maps.

Check the model number, 1Z0 is the Octavia Columbus and the 3T0 is from a Superb. The 3T0 is known to cause problems when implanted in an Octavia, namely steering controls but there may be other issues.

I'll give you £275 for it ;)

Are the 3T0s not just coded with BAP so it's just a case of unticking the box in VCDS when you install it?

Ok, final offer, £280. Yes I have one but SWMBO doesnt have one in her vRS and its only a matter of time before she finds the torx driver I've hidden and has the Columbus away :P

I thought it was more involved than unticking the BAP, possibly fiddling with the FW variant. If there is no MFSW it probably won't matter anyway. I might of course be mistaken. Lack of sleep does that to me :tired:

Absolute bargain.

Put it this way - I was happy to pay £650 for mine.

£250....top price.

Lucky barsteward

Enjoy it mate

Speaking of freeview on the RNS 510, where can you get the freeview box, and where does it go?

There is a multi pin A/V connector on the rear of the Columbus. You need an adaptor to make it all work.

You can plug anything into the adaptor provided it has a composite video output and L/R audio phono plugs. Based on this info you can connect any generic DVB-T box to it.

Well heres the bad news, the guy who sold RNS510 Columbus MFD3 to me has had the car repossessed and the company wanted the unit back

I told him it was mine now but had a call from the finance company and they wanted it back with the car.

good news

Got a hold of the guy and got all the money back

lesson learned don't buy unless it from a repeatable dealer

Right could someone provide a list of plug and play units that go strait in without the need of the extra facia

unit needs to have sat nav blue tooth and be able to receive TV so I can connect a digital box

Well known English proverb :- "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is"

Can't believe your mate didn't think to mention any of that when he 'sold' it to you.

Still think you'll be hard pressed to beat the MFD3 for functionality and ease of fitting.

maybe look at the bolero if your not bothered about the navigation features

I got the VW equivalent for my passat (RCD510) it doesn't have the built in hard disk but it does support SDHC cards which the MFD3 doesnt, so whack a 16gb card in and your away

I also installed the MDI interface for so i have my 80gb ipod as my storage device but can easily be swapped to a usb device

RCD510 was £450 and the MDI was £140 with ipod cable, fitting was straight forward,

Longest part was releasing the pins from the existing plug, took ages fiddling about till i realised two bent paper clips was the perfect tool, once that was done I could have probably had the lot fitted in 30 mins

Lease and car finance co's check the supplied spec carefully and expect it to be as was supplied.

Hence I cant fit vega's and keep the 17" for my next car :(
