thinking of these wheels...

now i know it states golf mk4, but obviously its the same stud pattern of 5x100

i think the tyre size is correct for 19" wheels - 235/35 ?

the thing am concerned about is it states offset of 40, as i thought it was 35 for the octavia mk1... will this cause any problems

and i guess the last question should be.. do you think they'll suit the car :D

They'll suit the car! Richie has a similar set, if you look at the pictures from Castle Combe this weekend you'll see them on his black vRS.

And I don't think you'll have a problem with the profile of the tyres, it'll be the width. 225's rub the inner arches on full lock so 235's will be even worse.

Si should know what he is on about as he has messed with wheels on Octy's..........:D

As for the look I think they are a smart wheel and at that price with tyres it looks like a bargain...........:D

Offset wise this may help:

I always thought from posts way back when on here that if you were going for....

18" wheels then it was 225/40 tyres

19" wheels 235/35

with regards to keeping the rolling radius within certain % limits and all that

thats just from memory though :o

they do actually have another set which is listed for the octy, and that is still the same offset of 40

thanks for the linky to Baker

If they are wider than the standard Octavia wheel (which I expect they are) then you need to calculate the difference, it's not as simple as comparing ET35 and ET40

they are 8J mate, if that helps lol am guessing maybe the original octy 17" spiders are 7J perhaps :o:confused:

I think they look pretty good but the thing i'd want confirmation on is the tyres. Now they say premium but I bet they are far from it. I've known several friends who have purchased wheels and tyres from these kind of places and they have even opted for the "premium" tyre and when they arrived no one had ever heard of the tyre makers. Just might be worth checking if they are a good known brand. Last thing you want to do is buy 4 19" tyres.

 its going to be that 235 tyre thats going to turn against you.

the 40offset you could always get a 5mm spacer if you must? or being tsw ou can hunt down bargins pretty easy

my sets of wheels have always been et35 and 8" width and had no trouble  im just glad for coilovers lol

they would look very cool :D

if its a company would they swap them to 225/40s?

Am just trying to think if it was Rochford or Wheelbase i got my ace 205's from the last time.. i cant rem lol but they came with Khumo's - not the best i know, but certainly not the worse (that was 18's)

yeah they do look quite good dont they ;)

am sure they will change the tyre size, although i felt sure that i had seen posts with people whom had fitted 235's in the past on 19" wheels on the octy, maybe forgetting in me old age hahaha

lol there always that old saying  about seeing and sucking or sumin

that was my plan  least youd have a set of wheels to put back on whilst you sort you probs

depends on the wallet behind the venture

i keep thinking of a 8.5x20  but my wallet starts swearing at me

before seeing a pic of yours (i think @ castle comb maybe) i wasnt overly keen on them.. mainly because of all the barry boys in my area with golfs, passats you name it with them on...

But yours on the shiny red octy especially as they are 20's and not the usual 18's and with the coilies... looks sweet :D

cheers mate

its nice to find fans, it did have to be 20s or none tho :D

hope you are planning on putting pics on when you get your new ones mate
