Sports Suspension Question?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone.

I currently have a 2005 1.9.tdi Elegance which had full leather, sports suspension + 17" pegasus alloys and sat nav fitted as optional factory extras. I'm currently thinking of changing to an estate 1.9tdi Elegance DSG - probably a late 2007 or early 2008 depending on budget. I realise that I'll probably struggle to find an estate version with all the optional extras my current car has and whilst I can go without the leather I have a couple of questions. Could I have the sports suspension fitted to an estate that doesn't have it and swap the alloys? Also would it be worth leaving the sat nav in the car (to add to its resale value) or taking it out and refitting it into the new car?

All replies greatly received.

Thanks

Matt

Hi

Plenty of suspension options open to you, aftermarket or OE

Lots of vRS owners upgrading to Koni's so keep checking Ebay or on here

I just sold my full sports suspension for £60 so there are bargains to be had if your patient.

You could always swap the alloys if you like the Pegasus ones, or again some Zeniths off a vRS would suit it. And there are loads of replica audi etc on Ebay.

Take the Sat Nav out and replace it with a standard H/U IMO, and transplant it in your new motor.

I have a Stream H/U if you wanted it, taken out of my last mk2 vRS that would go straight in but you would need a new plastic surround (in fact I think I have one of those too :D)

I could let you have it cheap and you get to save your mfd2 for your new car

Feel free to drop me a pm if your interested

Cheers

Hi Damian , I'd like to change the factory fitted sports suspension on my estate - is it as simple as changing the shocks and springs ?

Thanks

The anti-roll bar is heavier on the sport suspension aswell.

So I need to change that aswell ?

No, you don't need to. A spring and damper swap will give you the same appearance but it won't go around corners as flat.
