Anyone fancy joining us on 5th June at Hullavington Airfield? TRACKDAY!

I have booked this and as far as I am aware am the only Fabia at the moment. If some other fabias and octavis could join that would be great!

I am up for this - SO up for this.

holy mother of god those are a couple of long straights! :D

I can't make this date but can really recommend the circuit, very fast and safe with enough different corners to really get to know your car.

Last time we went to this course whoever organised it managed to blag a free 'instructor' session for all attendees as there were over 10 attendees - if there are sufficient people looking to go then it must be worth contacting Trackdays to try and get a deal.

Thanks for sorting stuff out Jason. I couldn't spot a minimum age specified for Hullavington so I'm assuming us 19 year olds (well, me) will be fine?

Also if anyone fancies this on the Sunday I think im going! PistonHeads Headlines

That's been arranged on Northloop. Looks cool. :)

You're not wrong, depending on what sort of speed you can knock out, the circuit can be hard on brakes and tyres take a bit of a beating, but great ciruit layout.

Seconded. Great circuit. Wish I had the money would jump at it but playing with the scoobies in July :D

Well I just booked this as the girlfriend offered to pay for it for last years' birthday present which was supposed to be a track day 'experience' instead... I and a friend will be going along. Please at least one other slow Skoda come with us! :D

  • 2 weeks later...

ok ok all maintenance is done and the car is in its best shape it'll ever be in so this'll make sense - plus i thin kyou need company Ed and my other half really want to do suimmin on track.

All i need is for someone to donate me a couple of spare rims!

That way I so i can swap my MOT-advisory rear tyes to the front

kill them on the track day

then fit the spare rims with brand new rubber for the drive home

any ideas?

Yay! Go book it up now - it's filling quite quickly I think ;)

I have two spare wheels but will be bringing them along to use for the drive home, they're already fitted with brand new kumhos - I'm anticipating destroying my goodyear f1s (on the front) haha...

you on commision? lol

dammit i thought u'd be doing that but was a long shot you'd be happy to volunteer them to me

If i (or you or anyone else) can find some suitable rims - do any steelies fit over 312s? - i'll be there mate

No commission, just desperate to have someone who will be travelling at similar speeds (even with a remap you can't be THAT much faster ;))

It'll be good to have two red fabias there as well - flying the flag etc!

Best thing you can do is put a post up in items wanted ;)

Well Cliff if my tyres aren't completely shot by the end of the day you'd be more than welcome to borrow the brand new tyre rims as long as you didn't give them harsh abuse during the time you're using them, but I can't guarantee that you'll be able to use them as I might need them to get home :D

Alternatively I can bring my steel spare along for you to roll home on if you wanted to do it that way? Combined with your steel spare we then have 2 spare wheels ;) I'll give you a hand swapping them all over if need be...

Do the steel spares actually fit over the 312's!!??

Didn't even consider that when they were fitted could cause some serious problems if they don't and we ever get a puncture!

According to WW_VRS in a couple of other threads they fit fine...

As I said I'm happy to lend you my steel spare for a week or two to get you home if you can join me - would be good to have two identical coloured fabias on track :D

I am tempted to go, but I am poor at the moment, plus I doubt the straights will be long enough to really use all of my engine power.... *koff* :D

It's still just me at the moment! :(

Trying your new 312's then?

I am indeed, gave them about 1500 miles to bed in a bit - time to give them some serious use on the track! Been very impressed on the level of control even through normal use on the road - and the stopping video will follow in the other thread as soon as the road is clear and the conditions are correct ;)

Brand new rear discs and pads tonight, hopefully they'll have chance to bed in on the 100 mile or so journey to the event and the 50 miles or so I'll do after I have them fitted this evening :D.

It seems I am indeed the only Skoda here - probably going to be one of the slowest cars on the track.. :D

Just hoping I can drive home after and don't end up on the back of a recovery vehicle.

Wish me luck! :D Should hopefully have a lot of video material to upload to youtube :)

Have a good day Ed

Seriously gutted that i don't have enough rubber (and if i'm honest cash) to join you :thumbdwn:

Next time though! Even if we split the cost and i'll share the driving seat of the Beemer with you! :D

.. and my mate Craig who's half owning the beemer too ;)
