Body Kit for Skoda Fabia

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I've got a Skoda Fabia 1.2, 53 plate and am looking to buy a body kit for it. Anyone got any suggestions of where to buy from, what to buy etc

So far I've found this site: Skoda Fabia, Bodykit, Spoiler, Front bumper, Side skirts, Body kit, WRC - UK

and this kit on eBay: Full Body Kit - SKODA FABIA Mk1 < NUCLEAR > on eBay, also Body Modifications, Exterior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 07-May-09 12:52:09 BST)

I've never bought or fitted any body kits so any help would be greatly appreciated,

How much have you budgeted for paint, lowering, wheels, tyres?

Cuz looking at the cost of these kits, the paint will prob cost as much as the kit it's self. And then there's a couple hundred to think of for wheels.

Body kit is fugly.

TBH I have absolutely no idea, I'm only 19 and this is my first car (and the only car I will be able to afford in the forseeable future).

At the moment I'm just looking to get a body kit, then will move on to tyres, wheels, lowering etc

How much would you recommend to spend?

Thanks, very helpful

do the wheels and lowering first!! if you do a bodykit first it will look reallllllly tacky! a decent set of rims and the right stance goes a long way!!

Don't do it!

Just source some secondhand vrs bumpers and get 'em painted. That will look much better than any of them awful bodykits

where can I get the bumpers from?

Don't mean to be mean.. but just save the money for a better car, even if it's years away.

Say the body kit is 500, all parts shipped (as it is on ebay), then paint on bumpers, skirts and spoiler will be, I dunno.. min 200 for a "don't look too close" job (some one correct me here if I'm wrong)..

You can't run a body kit with out alloys, unless you have some nice wide, or large steelies.

So, lets say a 2nd hand set of not perfect 17's... With low, but legal tyres they'll be, what.. £200?

so that's £900 - £1000.

Are you planning to fit the kit your self? That'd be free of course ;)

Now ask ya self what you could have bought in the 1st place with an extra grand?

vRS bumpers show up on eBay from time to time..

This really is the way forward.. Will look a thousand times better for the money!

and also, a bodykit will absolutely destroy any resale value in the car.

Sounds a good idea, get some second hand vrs bumpers and alloys, will be much cheaper and look alot better............

thanks for the tips people, now where how does one go about lowering the suspension?

where can I get the bumpers from?

Here's a rear vrs bumper. Maybe a tad pricey but still cheaper than from Skoda.

SKODA FABIA VRS REAR BUMPER on eBay, also, Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 17-May-09 09:50:24 BST)

Just look on ebay for any fabia vrs that is being broken for spares and you should be able to get some at a reasonable price.

Otherwise I agree with the above, get a decent set of wheels and lower it instead.

Cheapest route is a set of springs, they're about £200, but you'll have to pay someone to fit them if you can't yourself.

if it was me id go vrs spoiler... vrs rear bumper smoothed maybe... polo gti cup sideskirts and the front end from that kit as it looks rather nice... then whack it on coilovers and some choice rims and you'll have a very nice fabia :D

the front end from that kit as it looks rather nice...

That's cuz it's surprisingly vRS'esk :)

I have a very lightly damaged vRS rear bumper going spare.

Thats what I did with my micra.

I'd strongly recommend these steps

1. Lowering - don't need to be coil overs but a decent set of springs will do.

2. Wheels - invest in a nice set and always try to get the best tyres you can afford - never skimp out of the skins

3. Body kit - this will be the major money eater. I've always worked to a rule double what ever the sale of the bumpers are for your budget. Some bumpers may need a little work to fit and some body shops will charge extra for that.

4. Profit.

:)

Before you start anything - get an insurance quote for a 19-year-old on a lowered, bodykitted, car and then spend the money on petrol and having a good time instead, or, as has been suggested, save up for a better car in the future.

As someone who has (and still is) spending hundreds, if not thousands, on modifying his car, I can promise you it's always cheaper to buy the car you actually wanted in the first place. And you'll get the right thing in the end.

I agree with the others! The fabia vRS has a really good stealthy look! it's not all up in your face. If you add a bodykit at your age you will just be a moving target for police inspection.

Nice wheels, lowered suspension and maybe the vRS kit would be a lot better. Have a browse on the forums there are some very nice non-vrs's going round

Not being funny, but if it's your first car and you're planning on keeping it for the foreseable future, are you going to be able to afford the insurance once you've declared the mods? A bodykit will send the insurance price sky high, as will any mods you do really. It took me 3 cars to get a car I actually wanted, and knew that I could afford the insurance for.

Do nothing for the first year, Other than keeping it clean.

Once you've got some NCB, Then start changing stuff.

And keep it clean!

And I'd recommend forgetting about the bodykit.

Best results are achieved by keeping it simple!

What colour is your car?

I have some vRS bumpers - They were damaged but have now been fixed. The front bumper now also has a 'big mouth'.

Let me know if this helps.
