Painting new grille. Is it primed already?

Featured Replies

I bought my new grille and was under the impression that theu came pre-primed? The finish appears to be a very lightly keyed black plastic. I'll be painting it silver so do I just paint straight on it (after ensuring its grease free) or does it need a coat of primer first?

Thanks in advance.

Dont think it is - I primed mine before painting

since your car is silver and the the grill is black, i would stick on a coat of white/silver primer so that if u get a stone chip it wont show up as black underneath
