Which Octavia vRS1 Droplinks when lower than 40mm?

Featured Replies

Which Octavia vRS1 Droplinks should i go for when lower than 40mm in front?

Been looking on eBay for the droplinks because im planning on lowering more than 40mm in the front, which one of these is the right one?

My mechanic says the SBE46 is the right one but the SBE4 is listed as right one for the octy, but not vRS specific because of the ARB :/

Which ones did you guys get?

SBG4 connects to the wishbone so will not fit the Vrs, SBE46 looks like a shortened version of the standard droplink so will work with your arb and is the one I'd go for.

SBAG looks like standard droplink.

Thanks for the info, i find this info pretty important, kinda weird nobody else has asked for it on the forum..

no one askes because the max drop really on a vrs is about 25mm mate not 40mm remember a vrs is 20mm lower than a standard octy

i run 25mm on kw3 and it hates speed bumps and botoms out on the sump every now and again lol :D

40mm and you will have no sump simple as that really

good luck:rolleyes:

have you got the link to puchase the shortened drop link please...

In theory on a vRS you dont need shortened drop links as it has an ARB that goes under the driveshaft anyhow.

my 4x4 was lowered by quite a lot but tbh i don't know what.

this was after raising it by about 25mm :)

and this was it before raising it again.

wrong links :O

The none VRS can be lowered 40mm as it does not use the same droplink as the VRS, as the ARB joins up to the wishbones as mentioned earlier. Plus it is height up to start with.

I have lowered my VRS between 25-30mm and would not go any lower as it would really comprmise driving. With this height you do not need different drop links. The standard ones are fine.

I actually think that the middle pic, if you use these would be very tight to get the antiroll bar to go up height enough to bolt to it whilst the link bar is bolted to the suspension strut. I checked out mine yesterday and the standard ones have a nice angle to them. your choice though.

so what is the part number for the standard vrs drop link or the r32 equivellant?

Thanks

ive got:

1J0411315D - Left

1J0411316D - Right

If anyone could confirm these before i order them?

Also for top mounts:

1J0412331C - Mount

1J0412249 - Bearing

Looking at replacing both these to try resolve a knocking noise

Thanks
