Tow-bar removal

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Have just bought my first Skoda! (Octavia VRS)

Have just driven 200 miles home and it was prefect.

I have bought the car with a tow-bar attached but I want rid of it.

Its a Witter tow-bar, if I remove it is that it??? Do I need to put back a bar of some sort???

Thanks in advance

Elliot

You will need the steel reinforcing beam that would have been on the car before the tow bar, 4 off M8 nuts and 4 off M8 washers (might have been M10s can't remember).

The reinforcing beam must be for a vRS as they are listed as being different to the standard models.

I've just done the same thing on my Elegance. Might be worthwhile checking to see if it has spring assistors fitted to the back too. Mine had a set of smaller diameter helper springs inside the standard rears.
