Featured Replies

Any 18 year old VRS drivers on here?

1 Years no claims and 18 (well years no claims come october)

rekon id get insured?

 i hope so!

It is 'only' group 9, So not much worse than some of the larger repmobiles, Adrian flux would give me a quote a 19 with 0 no claims so with some luck you should be good. Give Admiral a try aswell, Their quotes have been coming out hilariously cheap for me and a lot of my friends

No need to quote original post.

You'll get insurance with some companies, but obviously their premiums will reflect the 'young-drivers' risk. It all depends on the individual company's customer target. If they don't want to insure young drivers in a sports-line car then they won't give you a quote, either that or a stupidly high quote.

I would expect a lot to say that you need to be over 25 and have x amount of license years to insure a VRS. Whoever you go with I think it will be very expensive. Saying that tho, it should poss be cheaper than a similar specced corsa/fiesta/saxo etc.

Im with elephant and they insured me at 19 with one year's driving and one year's no claims. No convictions.

Give them a try mate!

Hey mate, this is my first post!

I’m 19 and I’ve just been quoted £825 for a fabia VRS, and that’s with a £500 pound claim against me (stupid cow wouldn’t let me pay her in cash, and decided to go through my insurance! :thumbdwn:) and that’s with Bell Insurance in my own policy and 2 years driving experience. I also added my mam and dad on my policy as named drivers, which lowers the cost dramatically. Hope this helps

That's it, I'm definitely going to start my vRS hunting in earnest soon :)

And welcome to Briskoda!

I was quoted £1300 quid with elephant in my own name, at 19 with 0 NCB, category a postcode, 9K a year, mum on the policy as 2nd driver, garaged,

In the end went on the fleet insurance was £600.

Brentacre - £449

22 y/o, 5yr NCD, 1 non fault accident, mods declared.

And, i can mod the car any way I want with no increase in premium, as long as the engine stays standard :)

There won't be many insurers out there that are willing to insure you. I'm 20 with 1 years NCB, no accidents/convictions, had my licence over 3.5 years and some insurers wouldn't even quote me. In the end I went with bell.

There will be some out there that will insure you. Try Bell, Brentacre, Ecar insurance. If you limit your mileage and add your parents as named drivers it should knock the price down. Also increasing the excess will too, but don't forget if you have an accident you'll have to cough up!

Good luck mate! Keep us posted!:D
