Very Nice

No wonder you cant wait

lovely same engine as the tourage and the bro inlaw just had his chipped to 400bhp and 958ftlb of torque :D and goes like stink...

same auto box aswell and can tell you now they are a pile of crap and prone to going wrong lots!!!!!!!!:o

relly should get it mapped as they can map the auto box to work alot better and help the life of it.... but it really does eat boxes my bro inlaw has had his replaced twice in 2 years under warranty:O

Nice one, let us know how you get on! I've always fancied a "Toerag" with this engine but the fuel bills and tax etc etc ....

That's a lot of car, congratulations for taking the plunge. Respect due.

Epic uber barge - love it

Would be great to see it at a Malt House meet one time.

To be fair if it's got 958lb/ft of torque it IS going to eat gearboxes. And drive shafts. And tyres. And probably the chassis as well lol.

the gearboxes went before he had the map put on it lol :o

I do like that.

I'll keep my eyes open for you in Halifax, and cut you up, and spit at you....

( I'm not jealous, honest...:D)

Sheer decadence...just think what you'll be doing to the environment!

Love it!!

I'll just hook a chain to your house and move it when your not looking.. :P

are you keeping the superb for towing or will you be using the Pheaton as I don't see a towbar? I guess you wouldn't even notice your caravan behind the Pheaton

Think you may mean 958 Nm torque so just over 600lb/ft torque?

Good luck with the new car - i'd be interested in one if my mileage went up drastically due to job change etc.

Wow, nice one :D

Very nice. Enjoy.

Yep - they're 750Nm standard so that sounds right (or 553 ft/lb).

A bit more info :2003 Volkswagen Phaeton V10 Diesel technical specifications and data - 4 door 4.9 litre (4921 cc) V10 312.3 PS - Carfolio.com car specifications pages

But I think if you were doing a big mileage you'd want the slightly more sensible 3.0TDI. Would expect the 5.0 to maybe get high 20s for mixed stuff? It is 2.4T of car after all :D

Can anyone recommend and third party warranty? eg Warranty Direct....

As im paying this much for a car, I certainly want to make sure everything is covered

Cheers

Very nice... such a nice engine too.

I have driven a 3.0TDI Taureg before and that was a smashing engine so can only imagine what the V10 in a Phaeton must feel like!

Hope you enjoy and agree... get yourself to the Malthouse some time would love to have a ganders at that.

Phil

WD seem good to me so far on the warranty front.

Ok a car with a tank engine !!! I would be interested in what it does to the gallon. The 3.0V6 Tourag's (Toe Rags) at work get 25mpg when driving gentle and 17mpg when put some effort in !!!

You obviously have too much money but I hope you enjoy it :D none the less :D

Timelord

That looks one very nice barge to smoke around in

oooh nice big barge....

I drove a new 5.0 XKR recently and the noise, the power and the pose factor is simply mind boggling. Well done and hope it doesn't bankrupt you.
