not entirely true. Ive been in a few cars that have hit the breaks hard (damp oily roads) wheels have locked and slid. IF you are unlucky enough to lock all four wheels ABS will think the car is stationary and you might as well not have it.

but the chances of that happening are quite remote.

Unless it's winter and you get cought out...

I can confirm that a 4 wheel slide completely overrides the ABS.. Been there, done that, paid for the repair! :( ;)

Oh no it don't! I've had the misfortune of spinning in the wet when trying to steer.

Don't try this at home as they say.

However ABS does work very well in emergency stops when braking in a straight line, wet or dry.
