Warning Alarms

Featured Replies

Owner of new FAbia VRS- Fab car but one annoying problem. Intermittent warning ( 3 beeps ) when turning on ignition- no warning lights remain on!!! Any ideas

Fuel ? Seatbelts ?

perhaps ...

 Welcome to Briskoda.

Have you checked what the owner's manual says? :D

Fuel and low washer bottle fluid are one piercing beep. Seatbelts is 6 beeps, but I believe they gave up on that from 2002 onwards....

Chris

pulling away without seat belt on and with handbrake on? :D I doubt its fuel because thats one short shrill beep and a coinciding warning light. ;) I suspect seat belt to be honest, although the TDI doesn't have one, which is nice because I can do my seat-belt / ignition in whatever order I like.

Thanks for the quick responce, manual give no definative answer. Not water or Fuel. May be seatbelts, will try to narrow it down

Cheers

Surely You

A sneeky thing my mates do when I'm driving at night is subtely pull the handbrake on, enough to get the light on and then the beeps scare the sh!te out of me! :grumpy: Don't you love driving your pi55ed mates around on a Saturday night? :D (I get my own back normally mwahahaha)

iv got a 1.2 fabia and mine does this... got my dealership to do a diagnostics check and nothing came up... iv checked everything...

seatbelt was on... handbrake wasnt on... filled washer level and still got the 3 beeps mines brand new on 54 plate and dont know wut the hell it is it only occasionally does it and theres no pattern. iv been told it could be an ice warning but the ambient temp reads above 10 degrees

Damnit...

This happened to me tonight!

3 beeps, so I turned the engine off immediately as I was phoooping my pants!

Turned it back on again and no beeps!

What the hell is it?

Ooh, just found this in the manual:

The warning light * comes on for a few seconds 1/ when the ignition is switched on.

The coolant temperature is too high or the coolant level is too low if the warning light * does not go out after the engine is started or flashes while driving.

3 peeps sound as an additional warning signal.

In this case stop and switch the engine off and check the coolant level; top up the coolant as necessary

If the coolant is within the specified range, the increased temperature may be caused by an operating problem at the radiator fan. Check the fuse of the fan and insert a new fuse, if necessary -> page 210

Fuse number 8 (30 Amps) is for "The radiator fan" (from page 210 of my manual).

This only happened the once, so I'm not going to get too concerned about it... If it happens again on the other hand....
