Double Din headunit with DAB

Featured Replies

Are there any decent double din headunits with DAB built in?

I currently have a single DIN blaupunkt one, but they don't make double din models.

Checked out JVC double DIN headunits with an addon box, but they look manky and cheap!

Any OEM looking ones out there?

Thanks, Has to have DAB!

pioneer may have a one you can use with DAB, alpine iirc stopped using DAB about 3 years ago so cant use them. kenwood would be the other option but im not keen on there units tbh.

edit

dont know if this does DAB but i know JVC usually do.

The JVC 810x supports DAB as a bolt on unit, and looks OEM

EDIT: And I might have one for sale shortly...

DAB is going to be superseded at some point in the future, and current DAB radios will no longer work.

We'll all be dead from swine flue before that happens :D

Yes dab will be superceded, but we've not even gone digital on tv yet and they've been talking about that for about 10 years. I suspect anybody buying a dab radio today is safe for a little while....

I thought there was a transition date set, but can't find it. So perhaps it will live on a while yet :)

One reason I want a double din is so I don't have to keep removing the fascia, these JVC ones have a removable fascia...

Someone might break in to the car to steal it? ... if it was more OEM looking I don't think they would?

I'm not waiting for new technologies... DAB is a NEED not a want! (I can't live without Galaxy Yorkshire)

I can't live without Chill (and Birdsong).

Did any one find an acceptable DAB replacement for the fitted double din radio. I have had a Blaupunkt woodstock DAB for 7-8 years (in 2 vehicles) I really don;t want to have to put an "old" radio into my new car when it arrives in 2 - 3 weeks. I am getting a new superb greenline.

I can't believe :S there isn't an option to upgrade to DAB from factory.

Cheers
