Help to refit inner boot plastic cover

Featured Replies

It's the main cover that goes over the rear wiper motor, held in with 14 metal spring clips..

Whats the secret for refitting? it's beyond me.

Get it nearly on and spring clips comes flying off, take it off, refit spring clips, use foul language and repeat process until it gets dark....

Any easy way to do this?

Thanks

as you get the clips lined up (sometimes not easy), give the cover a good thump to push the clip home, stick a bit of grease on to help

Lol I don't evan have mine off as I have to take it off alot to put the rear washer hose back on.

I've got no tips really just don't worry about all the clips getting on as it will hold on with a few missing.

Atleast you don't have to attach an Octavia one back on there twice as bad.

No.

I found it quite easy. The only hard bit was initially putting the cover on, before pressing it. I put it diagonally across the rear screen and slid on side up, if you get what I mean. Then starting at one corner, knock upwards with your hand. Only once did 1 clip fell off.

Remember to thread the strap through the slot hole in the cover before pressing on.

opps:mad::rofl:

Found an easy way in the end, got my mate Craig to do it, took him about 15 seconds:confused:

To coin my words having done this a couple of times now, "It's a right ba**ard!" Comes off nice, goes back on horrid.... and I am going to need to replace my rear wiper motor quite soon too. :thumbdwn:
