Lime prime worth it?

Featured Replies

My car i s10 months old, and i've had great fun applying numerous coats of polish, sealant and wax.

I fancy trying some different products, so would you suggest dodo juice lime prime (or lite) to use as a base to start again, or do you have some 'secret gem' that would be better :)

Not sure if you would be better to give it a good claying to get rid of everything thats on there

As above assuming the car is properly clean ie paint feels like glass it is soo smooth then yes the lime prime lite is perfect as a base for applying waxes too.

Lime prime has very fine abbrasives in it giving it a very slight cut so when applied by a machine polisher will give a very good pre LSP finish.

To apply either of them though and to get the real benifit then you will need to remove all proevious layers of wax so tis is best done by washing the car with something like washin up liquid followed by claying the car. then not only will you get the best finish possible you will have a perfect surface to start the limeprime/ wax from

I have used Lime Prime quite a lot by hand before applying LSP's and basically I have been very happy with the results...........

Some people even use it to correct minor defects on the paintwork when used with a DA or Rotary so if you did purchase some it can be used for other applications..........

Arrgh..I hoped nobody would mention claying..I've never tried it before..read loads on here, and DW, so think I'll give that a go prior to lime prime (think I'll use the lite)

Thanks for the info, got a weeks hols over next bank holiday, so will give it a go then

I have used the Lite by hand. It leaves a nice surface ready for wax and doesn't have any abrasives 'cos I'm a chicken. :)

I`ve used Lime prime by both rotary and hand and gives a cracking clean base for you to apply your sealent or LSP to. Much prefare the results i get from the rotary though just seems to leave better finish due to the product getting worked a bit longer.

You will have no problems with Claying, it's pretty straight forward and if you read some 'sticky's' in this forum and on DW you will know what Clay to use and how to use it, don't be afraid to try these things.........:D
