Dealer costs of VAG-COM usage

Featured Replies

Hello all,

In your experience, how much do dealers charge to connect up their VAG-COM equivalent in order to change settings, and/or check DTCs?

I'm thinking over the economics of buying VAG-COM in the future, the wife is looking like getting a Leon, so I'll have two cars I can use it on...

Cheers,

Richard.

A dealer will charge at least £40, maybe more. An independent a bit less.

I'm in the same boat as you: We have 2 VAG cars, and a few friends have VWs. For me it's been worth every penny. I've helped out a couple of people on here, and 5 or 6 friends. I've diagnosed things and changes settings on 4 of our own cars.

Anywhere between 30 and 50 quid a go, or very, very occasionally free if you've built up a bit of a good relationship and it is something ongoing or they're doing other work already.

Depends how bored their technicians are, how 'good' a customer you are, and how often you want it done i guess. My local dealer hooked mine up and charged me not a penny to activate the settings i wanted.
