VW 1.6 common rail diesel engine. NEW

Featured Replies

Seat is adding a new 1.6 common rail diesel engine to its Ibiza range.

The 105bhp 1.6 TDI returns an excellent 67.2mpg and emits just 109g/km of carbon dioxide, putting into tax band B, yet can still do 0-60mph in 10.5 seconds and reach 117mph.

What Skoda vehicles are scheduled to be fitted with this engine and when?

Surely a no-brainer for Fabia and Roomster.

Surely a no-brainer for Fabia and Roomster.

And any other VAG car that used the old 1.9 PD105.

Sadly I expect it will be a while before it finds it's way into Skodas.

I think so too in regard to the Skoda. Will be great in the Leon though. The SEAT is a car I am very fond of, I have driven the Ecomotive and was lovely: relaxed cruiser on the motorway and a good steer on the twisties as well.

It's probably a very similar engine in terms of performance to the one that's in my Bravo.

1.6 TDI with 105bhp which gives 63mpg (in theory) and 0-60 in 11.2s in a larger car than the Ibiza.

It's certainly not underpowered and would pull an octy round OK.
