hello there ,i changed my gearbox on sdi occy,the original 1 i could sit at 65mph with 2000revs,but the replacement sits at nearer 3000 revs in fifth gear ,even when i speed up the replacement 1 doesnt seem the same as original 1,the revs seem to be much higher to get to same speed as original,is it me imagining it or the gearbox,or the car,help pls if u can:confused::confused::confused:

its sounds like you have purchased a gearbox with different ratios inside. I know on the Fabia vRS there are 2 different gearboxes with different ratios.

Sounds like it could be. Clearly the gearing is lower.

yup, sounds like you've got a petrol box

i took it off sdi 2001 model ,o2k gearbox ,so it cant be petrol

The box out of the 90 turbo will fit yours and will last, many of the taxis had problems with the sdi boxes, and the dealers where told by skoda to fit the turbo ones
