ECU login help

Featured Replies

Just installed the cruise control arm to my Nov'08 105-BHP TDi Octavia Ambient and cannot log in to the Engine ECU via VAGCOM to enable it. I have seen the code '11463' mentioned in other posts on the subject but this does not work on my car. Any ideas?

Error code is 35 - invalid key.

Many thanks,

Ian,

Cumbria.

What's the part number of you ECU? Shows up as VAG Number in VCDS.

Hi Ian

I think what Shark is trying to say some units will and some won't work !

I have just had cruise fitted to my 06Fabia Vrs, but I was asked which ecu was fitted, as if it was the wrong one, the job would be twice the price, as the had to install a new ecu, but as mine the right one, I was ok although it took them 4 1/2 hrs to do it !

Would it be a case of ticking boxes on the long coding, via the long coding helper? This link may help:

2.0l TFSI (AXX/BGB/BPJ/BPY/BWA) - Ross-Tech Wiki

It's a 1.9TDi so I'm not sure if it uses long coding or not (I think not) but hopefully the ECU number will shed some light on it

Guys,

Sorry for the delay, my wife has gone away in the car for a few days and I struggled to find the .log files. Details as follows:-

Address 01: Engine Labels: 03G-906-016-BKC.lbl

Part No SW: 03G 906 021 TB HW: 03G 906 021 AN

Component: R4 1,9l EDC 000SG 2047

Revision: --H08--- Serial number: SKX7Z0H832A0OH

Coding: 0000071

Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00000

No fault code found.

Readiness: 0 0 0 0 1

Cheers, Ian.

This is in the label file for your ECU

L00,Engine Control Unit (J248/J623) Coding-II

L01,11463 = Cruise Control Activation

L02,16167 = Cruise Control Deactivation

It definitely is 11463.

If it's still not working then I suggest getting in touch with Ross-Tech support.

Is that the number that gets me logged in (or should) or is that some coding number once in?

Go to 01 - Engine

Click Coding-II

Enter the number 11463

Press enter/click Do It!

Cruise control should now be activated on the ECU

Ah ... that looks like my mistake ... must have misread something posted elsewhere. I am entering the number into the wrong field. I will try it when the car comes back tomorrow. Thanks for your help. I now understand what the labels files do; learning all the time!

Ian.

Glad to be of help - word of warning though, be careful with VCDS if you're unsure as you can do some damage if you're not careful.

Car came back today; entered 11463 into coding-II and works a treat. Many thanks!
