Posted for and on behalf of Johnathan.

3 months ago my mum was diagnosed with lung cancer; she was told it was in-operable. They did say that they could make her comfortable and may be prolong her life.

They offered her 4 months of chemo; to begin with this was encouraging. But as a result of the chemo she became very week unable to drink and eat.

She was then given 2 pints of blood to combat her anemia again with encouraging results.

But then she developed a urinary infection and she was hospitalized.

After a large amount of fluids and antibiotics this infection turned into phenomena it was feeding on the cancers in her lung, and it was too much for her to cope with and she passed away on the 21st of April with me and my father at her side.

After watching my mums fight with this terrible condition I am trying to raise money for MACMILLAN & CANCER REASERACH UK.

I have always been into sport and running so this summer I have entered lots of races covering distances from 5k to a half marathon. Starting in July I have entered a XC endurance mountain bike race. So far in total I am running 92 kilometers and I will cover nearly 100 miles in the mountain bike event.

I appreciate that times are hard but if you could find a few pennies to sponsor me that would be fantastic.

The statistics on cancer are very frightening and if I can raise some money to make a slight difference then it will all have been worth it.

Here is my just giving web site details.
