How do the head unit fascias work

Featured Replies

Hey all, im gonna put a after market unit in my fabia. But I tried one of the fascia things, the adaptors. And it doesnt seem to fit. Am I doing something wrong here?

Is there a special way to fit it?

If it's the skoda part you have, should just clip in directly below the buttons above the original radio (heated rear screen etc).. smoothed edge facing down. No trick to it, just clips on.

If you've got an auto leads adapter it slips around the radio like collar and the radio it self holds the trim adapter in place.

Are you sure you've got the right adapter?

Well, I have a small part which I assume is the skoda part, but it wont clip in at all. One way it dont hold, and the other way all the buttons dont work.

I went to halfords and tried the autoleads one and the radio wouldnt clip in properly then c? What am I doing.

Not being funny, but you don't have the original head unit in still do you? Cos it won't fit with that in.

lol, I have fitted about 20 head units prior to the Skoda, no, the original HU is not in it. Currently there is a sony unit in it.

Oh well worth a try. Nothing else I can suggest then, sorry.

It might be that the tray under the HU isn't in right, which is making the HU sit a bit higher than it should, which in turn is pushing up on the fascia adaptor, making it foul the buttons above...

You've probably seen this before, but looks like this fitted...
