I Dont Believe it!

Featured Replies

I take the time to give a fellow member advice on his knocking exhaust and what happens

By the way Huck did it do the trick

I end up with a knocking exhaust :x myself

Of course it might have something to do with the fact that in trying to avoid a car coming in the opposite direction i put my car down a pothole

It made a hell of a racket the suspension made a loud popping noise and ive obviously done something to the exhaust as it is now knocking on every bump.

Seems to be coming from the centre section just underneath the gearbox.

Oh well another sunday under the car sheltering out of the rain :D

i haven't had time to get round to it karl.

strangely, the excessive knocking has completely stopped with some occasional minor ones after big bumps, but generally ok.

puzzling, but not enough to stop me sorting it out permanently.

I think I know what it is!

If its anything like all the others I have seen you will find it is the offside centre exhaust mount. Its about in line with the join between the front and back door in the centre of the car. I've had this numerous times, mainly after bumpy, hard drives. No its not Miltek specific, it happens to all the other, non-bespoke systems. Just seems that that particular exhaust mount is not too good. Lasts about 25,000 miles.

I know the one you mean, there two of them right that bolt down onto a metal plate( sort of orange in colour?)

Cos i also noticed the rubber mount just back from that ( between the end box and the centre section) allows the inverted U bend to get very close to the Metal protective sheet that is fixed to the underside in that area.

Thanks jon that was my guess as well, please dont rain on sunday
