Featured Replies

OK so we have a little problem , daughter has been over to Spain and brought back a Laptop , yes you know what i am going to say . she has loaded all the VISTA from new and its in spanish . Is there anyway to reload as english can not see how to do it myself or are we stuck with learning a new langueage . Thanks :o

It should be avaliable in windows update I guess, as it it offers me quite a few language options.

I you can find your way there, you should be ok.

It would have come with the oem spanish version of Vista pre loaded. The only thing you can change are the regional settings, even then vista will still be in spanish. What she should of done, and its possible if she bought it in PC-City is request an english language one as most stores, especially on the costas stock both spanish and english versions.

Surely it works the same as this lot28745.attach

Spanish is there, I would guess Inglese would be on the Spanich version :)

Try a system or factory restore back to day 1 and select "english". Works on XP but not sure about Vista.

The only way you can install a language pack is by having vista ultimate. I know this as i had a German laptop which had German Vista on it and tried to install a language pack but it told me i had to upgrade to Ultimate first

It's annoying as you can have the english version and change to nearly any other language in the world. If you buy any othe language you have to either buy Vista in english or take the approach i did.

I basically ended up using an english Vista disc, that i erm ahem found :D, and the german disc, took the language files etc from it and basically made a bodge of the 2 Slipstreamed them together and it all worked including the CD Key. But be warned it took me 2 weeks of trial and error and turned about 10 dvd's into coasters to make sure i had all the correct drivers etc.

The best thing i can suggest is get one of the Vista Home premium full discs that is for people who build PC's (can't remember the name of them) they cost around £40 iirc and the only difference with them is you don't get all the telephone support. However there are enough people around who can sort out most problems for you
