Are Fabias self healing?

Featured Replies

My engine light was on cos a pipe blew off the enging. We put it back on and the engine light remained on.

But after a 50 mile round trip, the engine light went out!!

Its as if its healed itself.

And another thing. Is 200 miles to a tank right for the 1.4 MPI?

Your car is not self healing, you removed the fault, now the fault light will go out after 6 or 7 engine starts with no faults being present! That fault code will still be held in the controller though. So there is no magic, just trickery!

200 miles is low for the MPI I get between 50 and 100 more according to the trip computer.

I get around 280ish until my light comes on if i am doing between 80 and 90 on the (private) motorway, and going to work and general town driving...That includes being very heavy footed.

If i am on a very steady run (70-80) on the motorway then i will get pushing on 330-340.

Thats in a 52 reg 1.4 mpi.

I am glad I got the diesel, we get around 500 to the tank

Hi

350miles to 375miles average for your car and tank, 200 miles = 21mpg which is unacceptable in my opinionfor the engine you have.... unless you red line it every gear change !!!

No, no red lining. Basically, I had just under half a tank yesterday, and did 80mph on a private motorway, managed to get 90 miles from it, now the light is on and its past the red mark.

:(

There is something wrong with the car I know.

Dont know what tho.

Temperature sensor is a common one

I had half a tank showing on the gauge today , drove to The Silverlink near Newcastle and back ,a distance of around 120 miles , the needle is close to the red but the light isnt on , I will probably get another day of running around town before i need to put more in.
