Car Sunshades

Featured Replies

Hi, Just recieved my sunshades from ebay which are made by OE sunshades and thought I would post some pictures up. They are really good quality  and easy to fit. Will have to see if they rattle and how much heat they keep out.

Hi David,

They look really good. Could you possibly post who the seller is on eBay as I'm looking for some for my Estate as I bought some generic one's and they're rubbish!

(11 week old son not impressed!).

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Think this is the link for the sellers shop. There not cheap but are significantly less than the dealer.

eBay UK Shop - VanStyle and 4x4 Accessories:

Be warned that they do take a while to come had to wait just about 3 weeks, also the boot shade is in two parts but its not too distracting.

David

There are a couple of differences between the two products.

I have the ClimAir Sonniboys for both Octavia and Roomster, a friend of mine has the other ones for his wifes zafira.

The mesh is totally different. The ClimAir ones (also sold by Milotec and Skoda) have a finer mesh, these are easier to look through and dont block your sight as much.

Rear window blind is one piece and not two panels.

The other ones might be cheaper, but the extra quality of the ClimAirs is worth the money.

Thanks David,

Had a look and it's the same as the official website for OE sunshades.

Will be ordering a set as at about £85 all in it's way cheaper than getting the Skoda one's (they're about £60 for each one so £200 + in total).

With the amount of sunny days we get it's not worth paying the extra!

Jesus that ebay sites colour scheme is terrible, I'm colour blind and I can't read the text at all.

I got the palm shades in my mk1 octavia good product and I got them for a steal unused second hand

To be honest I hadn't seen the ClimAir ones but these were only about £65 instead of about £150ish, which I could justify as I only really want them when its really warn (if we ever get any warm weather) to keep the heat out and help the air con out a bit.

That shop is pretty rubbish with the blue background and black text not a good idea. From what I could see I think Plam, OE Sunshades and UV shades are all the same company/ product.

David

do they rattle and how effective they are at keeping the car cool?

Yep, they're all the same company.

I like the look and feel of them and have been meaning to get a set for a while. Maybe on the new motor...

As for fitment, the ones I've seen fitted have been spot-on. No rattling.

Steve

I do like them, i think i'll have a look myself.

Bought a set for mine. They are quite excellent. Recommended.

As per above link there are two different companies (UV Shades which are also the same company as Palm automotive, and privacy shades) on ebay that sell them, but if you buy the privacy shades you get their logo/badge on the product.

where's the best place to buy these shades?

edit: i think the original manufactuere has gone bust but a new company has taken over, not sure what name.
