Is that on a standard car?

Yeah, I haven't had much success with the so-called 'performance specialists' - Elephant do me OK, though. Mine's got a fair list of mods - more than some, less than others - but it's the postcode that kills me rather than age or NCB in my case (actually anywhere in the North West is pretty bad for car insurance TBH...)

Not at 167bhp... ;)

Mod nats was a great show, did you go with a club or as a visitor? Didn't see any other fabia's about.

I dont know if i'd trust the accuracy of a rolling road that's dragged around the country on a trailer all year :S

Good figures though if they're legitimate..

Some standard PD's are around 155 with 15k. miles under their belt and some rolling roads do vary a bit.

Yes, and I think the 'some rolling roads do vary a bit' is what gives the 155bhp readings. I'll buy a BLT PD130 putting out 140, maybe 145 bhp, but I don't buy an engine honestly producing nearly 20% more power than it was designed to - let alone almost 30% more - without having had something done to it...

funny you mention more than, they are an odd company, they insured me (COMP) for £670 on my fabia vrs, doing 10k miles a year to and from work, car was insured for £7000, then when i just got rid of my fabia and got a 10 year old rover 400 2.0 16v, doing 3k miles social only and insured for a whopping £300 (TPF+T) they said they couldnt insure me on that car as it was a higher group than my fabia, in terms of speed etc my fabia would eat this car yet coz its a higher group...... i dont know, i often think the people making these decisions dont really understand either. i always thought insurance went on every detail involved, seems its postcode, group and NCB only

i saw this RR at mod nats! a standard skyline GTR is about 300 and something bhp! this skyline had a fair few mods on it and came out at 260bhp...i dont think so..although very funny to watch the owners jaw hit the floor hahaha but yer! i wouldn't trust its readings!

the guy there did say that the air was poo....... (really warm)and the results would have to be taken with a pinch of salt .

he was right to 1st run i got the 167.6 and on the 2nd i got 160.3 i think it was

i told the insyrance it was a 160 map witch is fair a would say :)

but it is funny that 30bhp more dubbled my rate ,could u think what it would be like if i had the cluch and a 220 map he hehehehe

oh and my car is now on 91k lol...... i found the reseat today to it was a super chip on a 160 map:),done at 7k.....

what a tank of a lump hasnt lost a bhp at all:):)

greenlight quoted £432.70 for the Ibiza with remap and RARB which I didn't think was too bad, and was less than Elephant wanted for the standard car...car insurance roulette :thumbdwn:

i'm £280 with remap, drilled n grooved brakes n lowered declared......................

yeah i'm old (32 :P)

I'm really not far behind you at all and although I've only ever insured my car with me as the main driver, I didn't get my license until a few years ago. and the Cupra is group 15 where the vRS is 9...
