Wow Tuning

Featured Replies

Looking at WOW's website and the list of shows they attend it seems to me they are a motor home / truck tuner. Maybe they are trying to get in to the car market too, but the website isnt working properly - I can't find any figures for Skoda and keep getting some blank blog.

There are plenty of recommendations on here for reputable tuning companies - and a good number of the site sponsors offer remaps. You can use the search to read up on them and find out about other members' experiences.

So why risk it? Not saying WOW are bad, but I personally wouldn't take the chance.

Figures -

Make Skoda

Model Octavia 1.8T 20V (RS)

Org HP 180

Tuned HP 212

HP %+ 15%

Org NM 235

Tuned NM 295

NM %+ 20%

I wouldn't go there personally, there isn't enough feedback on them.

The figures seem fair enough. They're not making stupid claims, but as martzini says, no feedback could be good or bad. Is it worth the risk? How much are they charging?

BTW Have you seen the 'ECU Broken' thread?

I have seen that thread while looking for something else. interesting read.

The normal cost for this remap is £325 but i run a website and as an offer for me to promote the garage who are doing the work for me they have offered me the remap and window tinting at a greatly reduced price.

(when i say greatly reduced i mean both for less than the standard remap price)

Do you know who provides the map which they use?

I'd only consider a company for this sort of service when there is access to a decent amount of direct feedback from other customers.

If you can't find that, I'd look elsewhere. After all, you've seen the consequences of bad mapping and the pitfalls if you've read a certain other thread...

From what i can tell it is their own MAP. They do 2 types for the motorhomes, economy and performance.

I have a 30 day test period with it so if i dont like it i can get it taken off and the original MAP put back on

Where abouts are you?

Wirral, Merseyside.

Wow Power LTD, at the same address are listed as an Oscarli distributor

but companies can only get feedback if people use them. It's a bit of a catch 22 situation,

Seems you could be right.

But who the hell are Oscarli ?

Oscarli is Richard Washbrook - Mapping Legend!

If they are an authorised Oscarli distributor, then they probably know what they are doing. Personally I would go for an Oscarli map :)

Wow use lots of different software (3 companies I know of and I think they buy from some others too) If you want an Oscarli map then be sure to request this when you visit them.
