Hello again.....

Featured Replies

I joined this forum back in October 2008.

I had just sold my Subaru WRX and was hoping to buy a Fabia vRS.

Well 7 months later and I finally have a 56 Black Fabia vRS with 25K :D

I love it.

Today one of my Dads B!$*@%!D dogs jumped up the door and it now has scratches all over ....... you cant feel them when you run your fingers over them but they show up whitish......... words cannot express how bloody annoyed I am !!

I have only had it since Saturday.

Is T cut the way forward?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to Skoda ownership :wavey:

I think i would try a less abrasive polish first but i aint no expert. Good luck in getting rid of them.

Welcome. T Cut is definitely a big no no. It is far too abrasive.

welcome back to briskoda

Hi again.

I think the question is whether the white stuff is dog's toenails or it's taken the paint off down to the undercoat. Toenails will probably clay or polish out, but if the paint's gone the door might need respraying.

Either way, I'd get some real polish on the rest of the car to stop it happening again!

Welcome

Thanks for your help.

Can I be totally dull and ask what sort of polish? I was going to go to Halfords this evening and was hoping I could get something from there.

I think these scratches are most probably superficial..... more damaging to my mental health!!!!!!

I'd go for Mer, or a proper wax polish (will say wax on the label somewhere; you'll need to read it properly though). Others will say Meguiar's though!

Also, I've remembered how to tell if a scratch is deep or not. Put a fingernail on the door (in this case) and run it across the scratches; if your nail catches, it's a deep scratch.
