VCDS read fault codes - help needed

Featured Replies

I have the fault codes read with VCDS. I need some help to interpret them and find a way to solve the problems:

1 Fault Found:

01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)

014 - Defective

The first set of faults are all related to the rain sensor wipers, looks like there could be a bad connection somewhere.

The second fault relates to the alarm sounder having failed.

That seems to be right as I can't get the alarm to work, it only blinks with lights but there is no sound when it's activated.

Do you know where the alarm horn is located? Is it easily accessible? Can I replace it myself or is the visit at Skoda dealer necessary?

I'm a bit crossed in regards to rain sensor wipers as they the wipers automatically switch on when it rains, didn't notice any fault with them.

I think the alarm horn is located in one of the front wheel arches but I'm not entirely sure. I've never had to touch it so I don't know how to remove it or how easy a job it is. I'm sure someone else on here should be able to tell you or correct me if I'm wrong.

As to the rain sensor wipers, the fault is intermittent supply voltage on terminal 15. If they are working, I would recommend you clear the fault code and see if it comes back.If it does its likely you have a dodgy connection somewhere. The errors you have aren't on the Ross Tech Wiki so I inferred their meaning from my limited knowledge of the German language. Wischer = Wiper - RegenLichtSens = Rain Light Sensor

Yes, the fault comes back once the codes are cleared.

Where can I find terminal 15 to check the connections?

Do you actually have the rain and light sensor as both of those faults together suggests that there might not be a connection and perhaps the car is badly coded.

When it starts to rain the wipers are activated and when it's getting dark the lights go on so I think I have the rain and light sensor fitted.

I own a HEX+CAN interface, is there any way I can do some diagnostics?

Have you cleared the faults and see if they return?

Have you cleared the faults and see if they return?

Yes, couple times.

I've also noticed that when I push the instrument cluster in there is a warning sound and few lights come on for just a second or so: abs, assisted steering, exclamation mark light. And then the airbag light remains on all the time until I clear the faults.

Does it mean the instrument cluster plug might be loose? How do I sort this out?

Any ideas?
