Accepting "bad" paintwork because the car is used

Featured Replies

I have recently got into the whole detailing thing trying to remove little niggles with the car and paintwork.

The problem I have is that I need to use the car for between 200 - 400 miles a week which is mainly motorways.

The front end is the worst, it's certainly not bad or poor but it's just not the best. The bonnet has multiple stone chips and I look at it sometimes and think it isn't worth trying to repair them as they'll only come back.

So does using a car daily mean I need to accept some chips or am I missing something? I was wondering what you do if you have to use the car as your main one but want to keep it tidy. :o

I always try and stay on top of stone chips, probably touch up new ones every month or so, I will not accept them... :P

Do you keep a really good distance on the motorway, as that helps no end...

What do you use to touch them up? A touch up pen thing?

And I do keep very far back (or in front!) it's just the amount of use it's getting and the shockingly bad roads on the journey I do at least 3 times a week.
