Hi folks

Quick reminder that Sunday June 14th is only 2 weeks away!

Janet from Yorkshire section of SOCGB has sent me the following directions for Temple Newsam Park;

meeting at 11am in the farm car park.

"From the M1 junction 46 take the 1st exit onto the ring road

A6120/A63 go straight across the 1st roundabout,

at the 2nd one take the 2nd exit A63 to leeds,

after approx 300yds there is a slight bend with hidden traffic lights

TURN sharp Left at the lights

after approx 100yds go straight across mini roundabout

the road narrows and has speed humps

but is wide enough for two cars to pass with care

as you pass through the lodge gates

take the road to the Left

go as far as you can right into the farm car park

Hope to see you there Janet"

Convoy from Scunthorpe to leave at 0945 from Old Farmhouse pub

(adjacent to end of M181 & SUFC)

Calling at Doncaster North services (M18 /M180 junction) departing 1015

more info

Might pop along to the Temple Newsam thingy as it's not far for me at all and that date isn't ringing any bells in my mind.

I think I have been there many many years ago but can't remember anything of it.

What is there planned Darren?

Well I'm hoping (from emails /phone calls) for 4 old timers ...

a Rapid, a Trabant, a Lada & my old Octavia,

I guess there will be a similar number of modern cars.

I've only been to the music festival at Temple Newsam,

but if you do come along, make sure you go to the farm car park,

as there's thousands of acres of parkland!

PM if you want my mobile number

cheers ... Darren

Not a regular in this section but as I was born in Scunthorpe I think I qualify.

The reason for the post is that an old friend of my fathers that used to race sidecars is talking about his exploits on the 15th June at The Bell, Bishopbridge between Caenby Corner and Market Rasen on the A631.

His name is Jeff Gawley and I remember him when I was a child so if any of you live in the area please make a point of visiting. I remember him as quite a character and sadly my father is no longer with us.

He finished 4th in 1971. See here. 1971 Isle of Man TT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If any of you do go please post up about the experience.

Hi folks

Well, we had superb weather and hit double figures with a rather eclectic ten car mix

Certainly interesting to see the looks on the publics faces....

Hope those that attended enjoyed it.

See you again soon ... Darren

Nope, in a moment of amazing organisation this morning, I picked up the keys for the right cars & for the lock up. However, I did leave the camera at home! Hopefully Spud or Deano took some pictures. I went to the lock-up the other week, for a little ride out & discovered I'd got the wrong keys with me. Still at least its only 30 miles from home!!

hi i would like to say a big thank you to darren and all the other members who made us feel very welcome to the meet we had at temple newsam cant wait for the next one cheers ladies and gents deano +tracey
