Intake Pipe

Featured Replies

hi m8

i have a carbonio cai kit, its a bit more expensive but sounds amazing

surely they will sound similar?

filter will probably do until you buy a developed one:thumbup:

They are good and make a nice psst sound but if you want performance go for a panel filter.

I think i will be taking my CAI back off tomorrow after what i believe to be a very slight drop in performance. Yes i will miss the sound but i prefer pefrofmance.

Surely with a ram pipe and a larger filter there shouldn't be a drop in performance ?

Unless the pipe is a smaller diameter or restricting in some other way?

yeah ive got a panel filter for when its really wet and when i fit that it feels slower and my boost gauge shows less boost, love the noise and the extra boost/power from the carbonio:thumbup:

I put it down to the fact that the air has to go up the pipe to enter the maf as opposed to just snatching it out of the wing. I have had both the filter that came with the CAI and a huge pipercross jobbie on and i can tell the difference and have vag-com logs which also show a slight difference. But most will not notice it and if you love the noise then go for it and don't let me put you off, they sound very nice. Mine lost slight boost with the CAI

I must say i love the noise, my last Volvo T5 had a cone filter which was clamped direct the MAF and a baliey DV26 atmospheric dump valve. was running 1.1 bar and chipped to 260bhp.

Would a forge 007 help increase the sound and performance or not really?

hi all

a forge 007p transformed my car added a couple psi of boost, car pulled so much better, i did have an atmospheric bailey on which sounded amazing but car went into limp mode all the time and didnt boost as well

the 007p adds a high pitched noise but can be turned round so it just whooshes:thumbup:
