Newbie VRS Question . .

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just joined today and posted the following in the "say hello" section - not sure of that was the best place so here is my Q again.

Just about to buy a Fabia hatchback - have driven a few and am impressed - just making up my mind on a VRS !!

One big question is whether there is enough room in the hatchback for two Collie sized dogs?? I really want a VRS - but my missus - (aka the boss) - wants to be sure the hounds will be OK. They won't be in it too much - maybe a couple of miles a day - and just the odd long journey - where I was thinking of just tipping the back seats forward.

Please help and say this would be big enough - so I can start VRSing . . .

Sorry if this is in the wrong place - but would appreciate comments in case I can't fit the animals in without removing limbs !!!!

Cheers

I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback in the back with no problem but he just jumped over....I'm not sure about two,

but there would be plenty of room if you flipped the back seats down.

Crikey - those Ridgebacks are a fair size too! Sounds like it will be OK then hopefully.

Our two are quite lazy and will avoid jumping if at all possible . .

Hi just joined too!

My problem was almost identical - would the VRS be large enough to transport our Airedale terrier, if it wasn't I'd be getting a divorce if I got one!

Well my question (and yours too) was answered yesterday as I pulled up behind a VRS at a roundabout and 2 black lab heads appeared in the back! Said to SWMBO - that's it sorted then, it is big enough!

Now looking for an LE!

Welcome,

Dogs will be fine, but remove the parcel shelf

Skoda offer a larger dog-carrying device. It's called the Octavia. Also available in vRS flavour :D

Steve

Haha - Nice Steve, i cant believe that charge all that extra just for the "dog carrying version" of this little skoda! :p

The Fabia's boot impressed me! I didnt expect it to be so big, one dog no problem . . . But two, not sure! do you live near anyone on here? Maybe you could try someones boot out?

Thanks for all the input everyone. I've gone ahead and bought it now - so there is no going back anyway :D We're lucky enough to live in the new South Downs National Park - so they won't be in it too much - (which means less doggy slobber to deal with)!

That said, sounds like this is a more common question than I thought. Once I get it, I'll post some piccies of the dogs in there, so others can see how much room they have.

Incidentally, I had an old Metro, and we used to have a punto too - and they were fine in both of those.

Cheers all . .

If you had a Metro and a Punto you'll have no worries with the vRS.

Tight Git - good luck finding an LE, I've not had mine long and it's awesome!
