Octavia rear brake disc problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wonder can anyone help? I am trying to change the rear discs on an Octavia and have come upon a problem. The problem being, having undone the screw holding the disc in place I am unable to get it past the two 'prong' things (sorry, not technical) shown on the attached photo, to remove and replace it.

Can anyone tell me where the screw holding them in place is and what size spanner/key I will need to undo it?

Thanks.

Jonah

They are the carriers and they are held on behind the disk with two bolts, not sure on the size though sorry :D

I've a notion you're supposed to unbolt the carriers from the hubs, not the calipers from the carriers? Look, my local garage only charges £25 an hour, can do the job faster than I can, and has a windback tool and screw extractors, one of which I would, and the other I might, need.
