just bought ourselves a 1.9 GLX TDi (90) 2000 W plate (just before facelift) and i have to say it's fantastic - especially this weekend down at B & Q what a boot!!

even the milage of 112000 doesnt stop the ride from feeling fresh, and the engine is awesome for my daily commute - 20 miles of mixed motorway / A roads is giving me a (trip computer calculated) 60+ mpg's!!!!

'the tank' (it IS a tank!! you know it!!!) has some creaky sounding bushes at the front, and a tired looking cambelt, so these will need replacing as and when i get paid - belt first obviously... as will the low tread tyres at the back (continental Premium Contact 2's from Blackcircles.com - £126 for a pair fully fitted at my local mechanic!)

it's a lovely car - loads of room in the front, and no complaints from baby in the back either...

Just so glad we didnt buy that Avensis now!

One question - the 'phase 1' rear lights look so out of date compared to the rear lights seen on phase 2 cars - X plate onwards - (the lights with the two clear stripes)...

are these a simple swapout of the old units?

Hiya. Depending how you drive, low 60s from a 90 isn't implausible. I've had it based on "real World" fill to fill driving.

ALH is the engine code

If you have a look near the spare wheel well , it will let you know what your engine code is

The lights are not direct swap , as the body on the rear of the facelift is different , and the front headlamps

But don`t be put off , my fella has a stunning looking pre facelift 90TDi
