You can get Nissin pump for about £200. Easy enough to fit yourself and then get it a re-gas.

That depends on what has failed on the old compressor. If it's done it's normal trick of seizing up and kittened internally then you can't just fit a new one. The system must be flushed prior to installing and the correct amount of oil must be added/subtracted from the system.
