Intermitment fast tick over

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a problem of a very fast tick over speed (1700 to 2000 rpm) on their VRS? Had the car 6 weeks and it's done it twice now, for no apparent reason. Very wierd sensation the car accelerating when you have no feet on the pedals!

Yes it happens to me in 4th gear at about 2000rpm i think its because the car has too much torque :D:D it does feel wierd

I think this might be the anti-stall feature? Not sure though!

Yes, my vRS SE was doing this and it got sorted under the warranty.

I think it got a new switch fitted on the throttle pedal.

Throttle position module, 20 minute job at dealers. Common problem.

I will have to get my one checked up then cheers guys

Mine was doing this until i sprayed the pedal pivot with wd40. Hasn't done it since then!

Had the same thing as all of the others above.

They replaced the throttle pedal under warranty and it's been lovely ever since.

After they'd done it I had a look at the pedals out of curiosity, surprised to discover they are plastic!!

IIRC brake pedal is metal. The earlier plastic clutch pedal had a habit of snapping
