Many thanks to Andy (AKA - harrysprout) for driving down from Harrogate for the day and keeping the camera working hard..........

Looking good there Baker

Can't wait to see the result you get on 8th Aug ;)

Thanks to Simon for a top job. The day almost started on a low note though, I was hopelessly lost on a nearby deserted retail park at 8.45 on a Sunday morning.

I was driving down one of the service roads when I gave Simon a call on the mobile.

A police woman pulled me up for using the phone whilst driving. Simon could hear me pleading with her not to nick me over the phone.

She let me off, as I have devastating charm and chiseled looks. And I managed to get directions from her as well...:D

ONE thing though Simon. Not too keen on the Chemical guys ' New Car Smell ' Although it has mellowed a bit now.

I am amazed that somebody can't come up with an authentic new car smell.

Surely it's just a matter of breaking down the 'nose' from the plastics, sealants and other materials that make up that new car smell that we all love.

That aside, Baker 21 knows his onions, so from an anal, difficult to please anorak like me, thats a good recommendation. Give me a call and I will book you in. I only take 25%...;)

Looks stunning - fantastic detail and a great write up.

Well done to Baker 21 for all his hard work, and to harrysprout for the pics.

I'll keep my eye open for this car around N Yorkshire - I work just up the road in Thirsk

Just out of interest was there much "fling" from the Megs Hot Shine on the way home? I can't seem to get it all to stay on even when applied with a foam applicator. I guess the hot weather may help - is there a recommended time for leaving it to "cure".

Sorry that your not a fan of the smell mate, it's an acquired smell but most people seem to love it? Maybe just not you..........:o

Thanks for the kind words mate and it was a pleasure to meet you........

Thanks for the comments on DW and here mate........

Megs Hot Shine does come off over time and I don't think that curing it effects this, I think it's just the nature of the product.........:o

Top job as always Simon - minted!!! Nice to see a VRS getting a good seeing too as well!

I'll see how the pennies go over the summer.... i'd like to get my beast done at some point.

Cheers,

Ste.

Thanks Ste and you know where I am mate.............

I thought it would be but to be honest it was no different to other lighter coloured cars, maybe you can pick up on the dirt and tar more but you can do this on silver so it's all the same really.............

Original link edited as unfortunately this was 'mis-laid' off DW............. :'(

Nice to see this back up Simon. It's still beading off now. The car is MINGING at the moment though, what with all the crap weather.

I did get a power washer eventually, it's a NILFISK one from SCREWFIX. Pretty good as well.

I must clean it when the snow melts.

SCUM BUSTERS MOT!!!!

Sorry it got taken down mate but now it's up there with no problems..........

Glad to hear the protection is holding out and also that you got yourself a good Pressure Washer, hopefully not much longer until we loose all this snow.........

I've read this and now I'm thinking ok I must do this with mine for its first and probably most important detail.

I'm just confused to where to buy the stuff and what to buy.......I've noted down all the bits you've used but how much do I really need any pointer/suggestion for a newbie to detailing? I mean I've used just normal stuff that you can get from halfords in the past but I really want to put the effort into this car and make sure the paintwork is well protected

Thanks

Glad that the thread is of help to you and I source most of my products from Elite Car Care:

There are obviously a lot of items that I use in a detail and it's a lot to invest in from the outset but in my opinion worth every penny.............. ;)

Happy to discuss anything with you via PM if you have any specific questions............

Looks good as always Simon. What was 'Blacked out' on the image? Presume some DW members didn't like adverts?

Hence the 'Missing write up?'

Thanks Rob and let's just say that certain DW member's didn't like my lack of 'support' towards the forum, this has now been resolved...........
