Remap problem

Featured Replies

Odd that you didn't get an engine light if you were actually in limp mode though.

The few times I have had limp mode I never got an engine light on.

My intermittent limp mode was caused by a failing maf. Could be your problem too maybe.

I have heard that a remap can cause sensors etc that are already 'on their way out' to start to show up more quickly (everything ion the engine is more stressed and so everything has to be running closer to ideal spec). Maybe it is something like the MAF. You probably need a fault code run.

Alternatively, maybe the map ain't great. As you say, run it for a few more days and see what turns up.

Ill keep my fingers crossed that it just a sensor on its way out.

The Map feels great though

This is them:

MOT

I got recommended by skoda to go there!

They have been very good to be honest.

You would have hoped they would have run a fault code scan rather than just turning things up.

There are many things that could be wrong and tuning a car with something broken seems like an eminently bad idea to me.

:iagree:

Revo ran a scan first before attempting to map mine.

He did a scan before he mapped mine. Just not the 2nd time round.

Everything seems fine now though. Im really happy with the map to be honest. well worth £199

Now my new Aircon ECU needs fitting! (Just below the battery)

I must be missing something, but the car is ok, he maps it, a problem occurs and the chap doesn't rescan the car before doing things.

I'm not saying there is a problem with the map or that it isn't something that needed replacing in the car, but you would have hoped they would have done a scan FOC just to make sure that nothing broke post map that was probably on it's way out anyway.

I'd find a local with VAG-COM and get it scanned for piece of mind IMHO.

I agree, Ill get it done when my brother comes back from Scotland this weekend.

seems like there are a lot of "tuners" out there that don't know everything there is about tuning....
